Your relationship with your healer

Although energy healing works very differently from conventional therapies in that you don’t have to sit there and rehash the traumatic details of something that has happened to you, it is still a very personal relationship between client and healer. Allowing someone to connect and work on your energy is as vulnerable as you can be.

How do you choose the right healer for you? ? I think this aspect of energy healing is incredibly important. Before considering letting anyone work on your energy see how you feel about them when looking at their name or a picture of them. Sometimes negative spirits (that nagging negative voice in our heads) and the like can warp your thoughts on this because they don’t want anyone to work on you that could potentially send them packing. So the best way to judge how you feel is go with whatever was your immediate reaction that you felt. Connect with what you are feeling in your mind, heart and stomach. Does this person give you a sense of emotional safety? Do you feel you can be open and honest and trust them with your energy? You can try meditating on this and if you muscle test or use a pendulum, ask, is this healer for my highest good?

Something that I think everyone should be asking their healer is if they do personal healing work on themselves. A lot of healers hide behind their work and use it to avoid their own issues and as a way to fill them up because they lack so much self love. The feeling they get from helping others empowers them, and so it should, but not when this is a cover for how empty they feel inside. You don’t want to ‘feed’ these types of healers because a healer really shouldn’t be avoiding their own issues. A healer should always be doing work on themselves and looking to expand and grow their awareness and consciousness so they can best serve you always. Your healer should also know how to protect their own energy during a session as well as yours. It is possible for a healer to take on their clients energy and absorb negative energies, but it is also possible for it to go the other way and for the client to take this on from the healer. You don’t want to finish a session with more negative energies than you started with.

It is the highest privilege to have someone give you permission to work on their energy and it should be taken very seriously and feel like an honour. But you must always be careful who you give this privilege to. Never be afraid to ask questions and make sure you are comfortable with your choice.
